Hello old friend, how have you been?
Hope you won't mind if I don't welcome you in.
You cause me such heartache, oh the despair;
My smile, my life, my nerves you do wear.

Yes I feel you now, how can I not?
You eat at my happiness, my body you rot.
At times it's depression, you blatantly hurt.
I call you friend, but I'm just being curt.

The name that you bear, everyone knows.
You succeed your plight, your fame it does grow.
You grin, you laugh, and continue to seek.
The strong can't survive, you destroy the weak.

From infant to elderly, you strike at us all.
You're the kind of friend no one will call.
We haven't a clue why this game you do play.
We can't afford the price you force us to pay.

Tablets and pills we ingest by the dozens,
Attempting to rid you and your cousins.
I've begged many times on folded knee,
"Please leave me alone, I beg you to flee."

Your family comes in many shapes and forms.
Inside our bodies you rest safe and warm.
One thing for sure, the last name is the same.
You're known to us all as the family of "Pain."

So no, you're not invited to come in for tea.
I close my door politely, I ask you to leave.
But I can't fight you, you force your way in.
You show no mercy, unto death, you will win.
